Peppermint

Common Name Peppermint
Latin Name Mentha Piperita
Folk Name Brandy Mint, Lamb Mint
Medical Uses Common Cold, Cough, Bronchitis, fevers, Inflammation, of the mouth and throat, Abdominal cramps, Nausea, morning sickness

Peppermint relieves minor nausea and is a good tonic/strengthener of the stomach when it is lacking acid.

Caution: Peppermint increases acid levels in the stomach and may aggravate ulcers. While Peppermint relieves stomach cramps in some, for others it might cause stomach cramps. Usually, if Peppermint creates stomach problems people will find relief by using Chamomile instead, and vice versa.

For chronic problems with the Gallbladder, Pharmacist Pahlow  recommends a tea preparation with the following combination of Herbs:
2 parts of Horehound,
1 part each of Peppermint leaves, Dandelion root and Wormwood herb.
