Stinging Nettle is a very useful herb. It has helped certain allergies, inflammed kidneys and pelvis, hemorroids, rheumatism, gout, bleedings, bronchitis, poor circulation, eczema, bad breath and weak connective tissue. The roots (as a tea) are especially used for treating prostate enlargement. Additionally, the German Commission E has confirmed the use of Stinging Nettle in treating kidney gravel and urinary tract infections.

Externally, Stinging Nettle root tea has been applied to the scalp for hair loss.
